Tire Pressure Monitors

I see there is an assortment of tire pressure monitors available. There is a little transmitter inside the valve cap on each tire, and it sends the pressure to a display inside the car. It's clever, but at $100 or more, I just may be able to live without it.

Have any of you tried these wireless monitors?

I've never used one before. It's an interesting little gadget. I wouldn't mind having one, but for $100, I'll pass on it also.

Yeah, the price is about twice what I'd want to pay. This type is a lot better than the kind with the large transmitter inside the wheel.

What's stopping anyone from stealing one or more sensors?

Although they lock on somehow with a special wrench, theft would seem to be a possibility. Of course, there's no practical purpose for someone to steal one, but that's what people do.

My dad has a system on his travel trailer. Has saved him several times from blowouts.
Works very good and shows actual pressure in all 4 tires.

This system looks pretty awesome, bit pricey, but great for long road trips. Still nothing beats checking your tires periodically during a trip
