newbie fit driver with a concern....

Hello all, I'm new to this forum and a new owner of a 2016 FIT EX. I had recently posted asking a few questions about my Fit. But I don't see my post, so I'll try this again.

This morning while backing out of the garage, the audio display screen went dark. It crashed. Prior to the screen going out, the camera was on as I reversed out of the garage, but the grid lines were not seen. Then the notification (honda link displayed) for driving safely appeared, then that's when the system crashed. It only came back on after I restarted the FIT, pushing the power button didn't work. (maybe I had to hold it down? IDK lol) With only 600 miles on it, I might have to contact the dealer. Has this ever happened to your system?

The only thing that has gone wrong in my 2 year old car is one day the screen went dark, and a few minutes later displayed the rear view camera with the right turn signal. It's never happened before or again. This happened for no more than a few minutes on a day over a year ago, so you might want to wait to see what happens.

This is an issue and quite a few members have had it happen. That said I have had it occur in many different ways, one time it showed a black screen with some type of computer codes all across the screen and another it showed the picture but upside down. I've owned the car for two years and every time it has happened it has come back after turning the car completely off. Welcome to the fun and enjoy.

And to think, these are the systems we are about to hand control of driving our cars over to.

My system rebooted a few times but always when my iPod Classic was operating and it always returned to normal in a few moments. I've learned since that the iPod doesn't really get along with the Fit's ICE and switched to a thumb drive; that has proven to be much more stable.

Did you take a look at the brightness settings, that might be it.

Have you ever owned a laptop or a phone that over a period of years never ever did anything remotely glitchy - not even once?

Probably not.

That's what owning a contemporary car is like.
