Where did you get your 3M window tint done?

Hi folks, just wondering if anyone has recommended tint companies in the SF Bay Area. Seems like a lot places have done some terrible tint jobs.

Also what is reasonable price wise? Here 3M tinting is expensive with prices ranging from $200 for FX all the way to $550 for crystalline (we are talking rear windows only too!). Color Stable quoted coming in between $250-$300. What happened to $100 tint jobs??

Nevermind folks, I ended up going with Llumar FormulaOne! Could not justify the high cost of 3M product.

Mine was the opposite... 3M CR70 fronts/windshield and CS 5 was $200 less than F1

Thanks for the tip! Yeah for the combo you just mentioned, crystalline in the front and CS in the rear my quote was $475 so not too far off.

But if we're comparing apples to apples, F1 is more comparable to crystalline rather than color stable and the prices for were night and day. I found a very reputable shop here for F1 on all windows except the windshield for $400. That sold me right there. The only downside is the dude is so highly recommended you gotta wait 2 months to get an appointment!

CR is probably expensive in your area cause, or in general, cause CR is most difficult to put on. Kinda like a master tinter needs to work it. I used to install tint back in the day (3m "limo" tint All windows - and legal) and when I sat down and watched these new gen tinters, pretty amazing techniques and workmanship.

Btw, I went with CS 5 cause I wanted privacy for my kids and cargo covers get in the way. If CR came darker, I would off went it it lol ...

I got a quote for front and rear for $280. I thought that was expensive, so I looked at the pre-cut 3M on ebay, for all the windows $50 shipped. I'm gonna try to do it myself. I can't swallow $100 + per hour rate. I don't that much per hour and my work is a lot harder.

Good price! However, I would recommend ordering 2 sets because you'll probably have a couple of screw ups learning the process.

Wow $280 is pretty cheap compared to my quotes. Was this for the 3M FX or color stable?

Agreed with last poster. I would buy two sets just in case. I heard 3M is expensive because it's a lot harder to work with their films. Let us know how it turns out!

Just to update everyone that responded here, I finally got the tinting done today. Took awhile to get the car in but hey, this was still pretty damn early compared to what he is taking which was dates into October (he squeezed me in by doing it before he opened which is crazy).

I got F1 Pinnacle 30 in the rear and Llumar Air 80 for front windows (nothing on windshield). It was $400 but well worth it. This guy did a phenomenal job and I'm not surprised why people wait months to get him to do it. No lint, no bubbling (yet), and I can't even see the seams. I'll be curious to see how it is at the top once I can roll down my windows!!

I'm a little paranoid with my Air 80 in the front (I think it's barely legal, if not just under) but I really can't tell except if I look at it at certain angles I can kinda see a slight blue hue. Anyone know what the VLT is of the factory window?
