underbody cover problems

My Honda is just over a year old, and back in the late spring began making a rather loud, flapping noise. After a tire blew, I hoped that would end the problem, but, no, the noise was still there and worried me. Finally I took it to a friend's shop, who put it on the lift and discovered that part of the underbody cover was missing, and it was flapping as I drove. They suggested that I just get rid of the whole thing; that it was not a necessary item, and not worth the trouble or expense of replacing. I agreed to let them remove the remainder, and left, happy that the sound was gone. Later, I wondered if it might not protect something important and called Honda's central office to ask about it being under warranty. The lady I talked to thought it should be, but cautioned me to take it to a dealer to see what they said. I did, but took it to my local closest dealer, which I hate, and they did not want to cover the replacement. I've read all the posts that discuss the way others have handled the problem, and it sounds as though they thought it should be covered, also; and that they thought it important enough to replace. What is the matter with Honda! I'd think they would want to maintain good relations with their loyal customers. I'm really disappointed with them for their attitude.

it does affect aerodynamics, some bumper rigidity, and weather splash up.

if the shroud was torn i wouldve replaced it too, but it if was just loose it only takes a few simple hardware to put it back to where it was.

when ur tire blew, did u run over something? the shroud usually does not come off on its own, unless after a dealer or local lube place messes with it during an oil change.. lol
