Going to look at a 2017 EX Manual tomorrow. Of course asking price is $18,875, USAA/Truecar says $18,375, plus if I finance with HFS I can get another $500 knocked off putting me at $17,875 - is that a fair deal before tax, tag, title? Or should I push for lower price.
I'm trading in a 2015 Si Sedan in return for some versatility. Tax will be wiped out because of the trade so I'll have dealer fees and a tag transfer. I really want a new Ridgeline but I drove the Black Edition first, then a Sport and if I went that route I'd be spending $43k on the Black Edition haha.

2017 Fit Hit CVT 256,900 pesos= $12,100
What you see on the sticker is what you pay down here. You might get the dealer to throw in some floor mats but that's about it. Salesman doesn't try to pressure you into buying a bunch of extras you don't need.

Anytime you have a trade in you negate the actual cost the car you are paying because the dealer can play games with trade ins. For example, the dealer may sell you the car for $16,000, but low ball you with the trade in. If you decide to sell the car yourself you have to consider the reduced tax you will not be getting. In most cases you are better off selling the car yourself and the negotiate on the buying price of the new car.

last week, got my 2017 EX-L without navi aegean blue
list price 20265 + 835 (delivery and handling)
with wheel locks and door moldings, fender trim their total price was 22078
total out the door 20.9k, ~20k + 800 tax (virginia 4.15%) + 100 tags
not sure if they would go for more, I did get a J VIN.
Overall thought it was an ok deal, probably could have done better but not sure by how much.

It a good deal.
Seems very hard to get a lower price on these cars.
What do you mean by a J Vin # is that the newer version of the 2017?

the VIN starting with J means final assembly in Japan.

When I looked up inventory over the past few weeks, for the EX-L seemed like some were Mexican assembly and some Japanese, maybe about 50-50. Not sure if the Japanese were old inventory or the other way around, or they are getting shipments from both.
This is on the east coast, not sure if different parts of the country are different.

Manual transmissions - all continued to be made in Mexico
CVTs, all versions except EX-L moved to manufacture in Japan
EX-L, apparently continued to be made in Mexico for some reason, but possible there are now both Mexico and Japan versions as you've stated.

Damn, I think I paid a bit higher. I just purchased a blue EX-L with Navi from a Chinese local auto sale company in New York. It is like a middle man for Chinese community that does not speak English well in New York. I paid 21800 just for the car (before tax). No any extra included. And it is made in Mexican.

Hi all, this a my first post.
Wow, I feel kinda violated, but happy with purchase. Got the 2017 Fit LX OTD: $18,600 includes tax, license, and reg. This Fit was the only one with a "J"VIN with everything made in Japan. The others were kind of a mixed bag of Engine made in Japan, Transmission made in Philippines, and final assembly Mexico.
Plus, since I was looking for the best gas mileage and didn't want to spend over 20K, I found the LX model had the "better" gas mileage compared to EX and EX-L. My commute is approximately 135miles one way every 2-3 days and my 1-ton pick up at 18mpg wasn't the answer.
