Rear bumper hit n run

I have street parking, the rear bumper on the driver side was scraped. $ 1000 insurance deductible is not practical. Any tips on where to order a new bumper preferably pre painted?

I believe someone else got rear ended. The rear bumper, painted, was about $1,500, if I recall. You should be able to search for the thread.

Aftermarket bumper covers are available. Search google. You will still have to paint it before installing it.

Minor damage to a cover can be repaired without replacing it.

This summer I backed into a fallen log hidden in the weeds at a kayak launch site and scraped and dented the lower part of my rear bumper. Body shop wanted $500 to repair and repaint. Bumper is plastic and it's purely cosmetic so after pushing out the dent as best I could, tacked a bumper sticker over the scrape. Works for me.

until u can afford to park off street or a lower deductible insurance, id just leave it unless ur bumper is totally crushed or something. same thing will most-likely happen to ur new bumper... it only takes a split second for someone to bump and damage ur ride.

I've long ago given up on trying to keep a bumper perfect......since it's not metal, it ain't gonna rust, so, scrapes don't bother me anymore.....if it was crushed to the point of being deformed, yeah, I'd replace it, but....I keep my cars for many many years, am not concerned with trade-in value....does suck when someone f's yer car up, though
