clear film paint protection

A Pro installer will have templates for the hood (and anything else you want covered, like the leading edges of the rearview mirrors).
Make sure you get genuine 3M products, I have seen some cars with other brands that have failed after 5 - 6 years. (Cracks and peeling)

The folks I know that have removed the film have found that rock impacts will loosen a chip under the film. You cannot see it until it is peeled off, then, the chip of paint stays with the film.

I usually install clearbra on my own.. until my tint guy gave me a huge discount when I had the windows done on the same order.
I have him do it now since I run window tint anyway. I use either Xpel ultimate or 3M.

I did the hood, headlights, cameras and the inner door handles.
I wanted to do the A pillars, nose and top of rear bumper where the "applique" typically goes, but decided, nah.
I will do the contact areas when I get a roof rack.

I bought an entire front end kit for the GK body style. Its not so much difficult as it is time consuming with the precut pieces. The thread link down below has pictures. The front bumper piece is the most difficult being a steeper angle to stretch (but not overstretch) the 3M around the bumper sides. The hood, mirrors, front fenders, door edges, all were super simple to install. Patience is required for such a project. Picture of the hood piece after application. had to wipe away the water marks and dust from the microfiber towel, but the cleaned up section today looks great! near invisible!

GJ! the biggest trick is wat u mentioned. keeping ur hands wet at all times and stretching but not over stretching. precuts suck in dat sense. shops dat use rolls and custom cut to ur car do not stretch the material nearly as much.

Yes, and you need to have a super sharp knife when cutting the material, when the need to cut arises of course. Its tougher than one might think.
