Changing the battery Help! :(
So my FIT died during the last storm. I bought a battery and had someone put it in for me but the car still won't start. Someone was saying it's bc of the key fob and I have to tow it to the dealer to have them reprogram it?
Any suggestions?

Take your existing fob, and then press it to the red start button (like use it to press the button, and not your finger).
If your battery is low, the active RF (or NFC?) within the car will not work. Pressing the fob to the start button will use a 'inactive' RF signal to tell the car you have the key in hand.

if it is running again, try to drive da car at least 10-15miles per start as much as possible. i mean a few short trips is fine, but ur driving distance might be too short to charge da battery.
if u only use da car once in a while plug it in using a Battery Tender. you can buy them from amazon for like $25. it is very much worth it. my hobby cars both run dem during da week and during hibernation.
ive NEVER had a Fit battery go bad. GD, GE x2, GK no issue even down to -10F. started up just fine.

One thing it COULD be is loose battery terminals. Try and twist them left-right without loosening the clamp bolts. If they move, battery terminal shims need to be installed.
Both our Hondas needed shims after battery replacement. The Honda terminals were still loose with the clamps tightened all the way.

The MAIN FUSE 'intercepts' all the power to the car. Can't be that if those other lights work.

I'm cheaper than you! My shims are cut-up strips of aluminum beer can. (I didn't want to drive to Pep Boys, having just consumed a beer or two.)
I only apply the shims half-way around so the the original clamp has plenty of surface area on the terminal, just in case.
