Towing 2017 Honda Fit EX Questions
Towing 2017 Honda Fit EX Questions
Hi All.
New owner here that will be towing his Fit behind his motorhome and had a question from anyone who is familiar towing a Fit EX with the Power Button.
Details and overview.
I have a 2017 Honda Fit EX with 6 speed manual transmission.
I know it can be towed behind a motorhome as the manual says.
I have the EX model so I have the Push Button for Start/Stop/ACC
Now my questions:
1. To Tow the car it says to make sure its in Neutral, Parking Brake OFF and NOT TO push brake or clutch peddles in and push button ONCE.
This unlocks steering when and places the car in ACCESSORY Power mode.
Now the main screen is on and just wondered if this times out or would I expect it to stay on all the time while in the ACCESSORY mode for towing behind my motorhome?
I was hoping the main screen would timeout or find a way to turn it off while towing in this mode.
Thank you

Just responded to you on my other thread. You can pull the fuse for the head unit so it doesnt drain the battery down. Prolly best simply to pull the main fuse going to all the accessories to prevent battery drain. Page 310 in owners manual details which fuses and where for smart entry push button systems.
Also, only the CVTs have a 60 min timeout in accessory mode. Page 118 details this in the manual. The 6MT does not have this feature where the accessory mode times out. I would suggest keeping the transmitter in the car while towing so you do not get the warning buzzer that the key is not in range.
