1st tire rotation @ 23,000!
That's right. I got lazy. Didn't rotate the tires till there was so much noise from the rears that people complained when I had them on the Bluetooth.
At 23,000 miles I switched the fronts for the rear tires. Before the rotation there was an awful humming/thumping from the back at 40-55 mph. Now there is a humming/thumping up front from 10-15 mph, but no shudder or performance problems.
It's been about 700 miles since the rotation and the noise from the front seems to be getting a little better, but it is tolerable, where the noise from the rear before the rotation was intolerable.
I will definitely be able to get more miles from this set of tires. My next set I plan to rotate them with every 5000 mile oil change.
You can feel the dished out spots on the 2 bad tires.

you can't really align the rear (well, you can but dealer wont do it for you as it requires other bits) so best is you rotate the tires on a routine basis.
in my area i run snow tires so every fall and spring i inspect the tire wear and mount it on the car appropriately. when the treads are getting kind of low, best you put the better tread tires on the rear to prevent spin outs.

max503, and don't overlook any suspension parts either. While the Fit has a completely different rear suspension than my daughter's 2008 Civic, she had the same cupping issues as you, much earlier on. Honda had a problem with the rear control arms and they had to be replaced to correct the issues with her Civic.

neglect
I'm sure the problems are caused by neglect on my part. The tire guy measured the tread and checked the cupping and advised me to rotate them, then drive them for as lo g as I can tolerate the noise. Then I'll get new tires and check the alignment.
It's actually running ok, and the road noise is not an issue. We took a 1600 mile trip recently with no problems, unless you cruise at 15 mph.😏
