I just bought a brand new 2017 LX Manual, stock as can be.

Is there a way to make my interior lights turn on when I turn the car off or at least when I open the door? (obviously I would want them to turn off when I locked the car or closed the door as well) I did search some threads but it seems a lot of people want the opposite, interior lighting of some sort when the car is running.

I'm not super handy with electronics, though I am more than willing to learn new stuff. Even so, maybe a car stereo shop could do something like this for me?

Is it even possible on this car?

rear Interior lights are door activated, select on or off. The door activated interior lights fade out and go off 30 secs after the doors are closed. There are a bunch of different use cases in the manual.
