Interior (dome)light function?

The Owners Manual for my FX Fit page 98 indicates to me that there should be a delay in turning the inside roof (dome) off after the doors are closed, with the light switch in central position. With mine, when the doors are open, the light goes on,and when the doors are closed, the light goes off immediatly. Is this the forums experience? or am I missing a delay someplace? asked my salesman,he said he'd get back to me.

Yup, mine slowly dims.

Maybe you should take yours back to the dealer to have it checked out?

Just a thought - my VW used to do this - if you've got the car running when you shut the door there would be no delay - it would go off immediately - maybe Hondas do that too - any chance you've got the car running already when you shut the door?

Thanks forum, not a life or death problem, but a new car should do what it's supposed to do.a snag to be fixed when NODDY goes in for his first service.

My Fit does the same thing. I called the service guys where I bought my Fit but he'd never heard of the problem before. I'm going to get this looked at at it's first service ... has anyone else had this problem resolved?

I have the same thing.. my interior light just goes on and off.. no dimming..

Is it the diff between LX and SPORT models? Sport has alarm/key less and LX's don't.

I have and LX, and it doesn't dim.

I also have an LX, but the manual says it should dim ... when I called the dealership about it the service fellow checked another Fit on the lot and it dimmed ... his comment was "well, as long as it turns off" ... I suppose it's not that big a deal but it's just something that makes you wonder what else might be wrong "electronically" ... my first service is still a few months away ... but I will bring it up ... thanks for replying.

the manual also says that the dome light should turn on when the key goes into the off position. mines doesn't do that either..

AND it should turn off after 3 mins when door is left open without key.. mines doesn't do that either!!

I wonder what's missing!

I think only the sport model does this, I know my base doesn't. The manual does seem to indicate both models should, doesn't say (sport only).
