Does anyone know if theres a way to make the dome lights turn on when the doors are open?

 

not sure on an 09 but on the 08 the dome switch has 3 positions one of which does what you want. Your owner's manual would be a better authority than I could ever be.

Ceiling Light
The ceiling light has a three-position
switch: ON, Door Activated, and
OFF. In the Door Activated (center)
position, the light comes on when
you:
● Open any door.
● Unlock the doors and the tailgate
with the key or the remote
transmitter (if equipped).
After all doors are closed tightly, the
light fades out in about 30 seconds.
The ceiling light (with the switch in
the door activated position) comes on
when you remove the key from the
ignition switch. If you do not open a
door, the light fades out in about 30
seconds.
If you leave any door open without
the key in the ignition switch, the
ceiling light will go off after 15
minutes.

I must have been blind but where is the dome light switch? I picked up my car at night so it was kinda hard to see and I didn't check this morning when I went to work.

 

Look at your owner's manual. You'll get answers much quicker that way than asking a forum. But, you could also just look at the light. ANY switch you see is the one you are looking for.

 

Hi guys and sorry for bringing this old thread up but I have the same problem. Just for info, I am in Cyprus and I bought a Japanese used 2008 Fit.

The dome light does not have any switch with 3 positions. The only way it works is: push to turn on and push again to turn off!

Unfortunately when the doors open the lights stay turned off! Do you know if there is any way to fix it?
