I like how they say it'll only cost you guys 100 extra bucks for the hecho en Mexico mark of quality.

Hard for Mexico to pay for the wall if they're not making any money.

The standards are the same. Doesn't mean they all meet the standards.

A while back, early 2000's, the 3 series BMW drivers were concerned about their 325i being assembled in Rosslyn, South Africa, not Munich, Germany where all the 330i (bigger engine more expensive) were assembled. Yea, there were a lot of dirty jokes in BMW forums like if you want your car to be assembled in Germany, you order the car with xenon lights (blue eyes) and blond leather seats. How do you know your car was assembled in Rosslyn? If you find chicken bones between the seats. However, JD Powers once gave the Rosslyn plant, not Munich, their highest quality award.

I'm in the market for a new car and was seriously looking at the Fit. Would you not recommend the 2018 Mexican-made Fits?

Yes. Mine has been perfect. Tons of Hondas and other makes come from Mexico. The high reliability numbers for the Fit include cars made in Mexico and Japan.

Glad yours was. Mine wasn't, and Honda's unwillingness to address its issues has left me less than impressed.
