2015 Fit EX, Threw Code P0087
2015 Fit EX, Threw Code P0087
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and came across it while looking for some help about my car online.
The other day, I was driving and my car decelerated to 2k rpm and would not go past that in any gear. The traction control, TPMS, Electric Power Steering and CEL all came on simultaneously. The CEL code was a P0087, " Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too Low".
I tried to reset the code hoping it was a fluke and it came back immediately.
My car is now having a very hard time starting as well. Luckily my town is very small and so I do not really need to go over 40mph.
I did run the car very low on gas for a few days prior the lights coming on.
Has anyone seen this before or have any experience with this issue? During my research I found that the Fit's do not have a maintenance fuel filter, which was my first guess. I think it may be the in tank fuel pump or the high pressure pump. Just looking to see if anyone might have any ideas or help
The car: 2015 Honda FIT EX 6spd MT, 96k miles.
Thank you!

I did forget it, sorry: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...ep-coming.html
I painfully read all the posts on that thread. I didn't notice any problems with the exact same symptoms as mine. Similar, but not the same. My CEL read P0087, fuel rail/fuel system pressure too low. There's a few things I can think of:
1.) The in-tank fuel pump has gone bad
2.) The High Pressure fuel pump(On the cylinder head, near exhaust cam?) has gone bad.
3.) Possibly the injectors or the fuel rail have gone bad.
4.) Electrical problem communicating low pressure when in fact, mechanically the fuel pressure is adequate and in line with specifications.
Thanks again!
You've been running the car very low on gas for a few days. It's possible that some gunk at the bottom of the tank got sucked into the fuel line and has clogged something up. In any event you're almost certainly on your way to the dealer.
Do you by any chance have an extended warranty?
I had the same lights come on a month or 2 ago but had a different code. The dealer had to replace the fuel rail and injectors. It was an $1100 bill that was paid by my extended warranty.
I hope you have a better and cheaper diagnosis.
