Installing Dash Cam in a 2017 EX?
I'm getting ready to install a front/rear dash cam in my son's 2017 Honda Fit EX next weekend. He, and the car, are away at college. My plan is to pull power from the interior fusebox using two low profile fusetaps.
- Where is the interior fuse box located?
- Which circuit can I pull constant 12V power from?
- Which circuit can I pull accessory switched 12V power from?
- Is it better to run the rear camera wiring along the rocker panel or above the headliner? Not sure what obstacles need to be avoided.

camera might get unwanted attention while parked at college or apartment.. just something to think about i guess. last thing you need is broken glass.. and you know college is a pretty crazy place when alcohol is involved.
as for the fuse box, it's on the left side of the steering column above the tpms switch.

He lives about 5 miles from campus in a private apartment complex that has 24-hour video surveillance. Plus, there are at least 3 police officers who reside there as well, so I think he's good.

That's an interesting idea. Do you have any photos or rear dash cam video links?

No he doesn't. He's a recovering addict and goes to NA meetings every night. He does occasionally go to parties, but they're usually in state parks or another members home.

were you able to find the fuse box on the left of the steering column above the tpms button? those cameras dont pull much power so any switched fuse 10A or below should be plenty. add-a-circuit's max is 10A for the fuse you are tapping into so dont want to go too high.
honestly for my radar detectors and low amp LED's and stuff, i dont even use add-a-circuit and just cleanly wrap the wire on the terminal of the fuse and push it into the fuse box. i crimp a 5A fuse inline, wrap it with e-tape, zip tie the wire to another wire or bracket so it dont pull out, and walla.
