Hello,
Just a quick reply -- our paint on our 2015 Fit looks exactly like your pictures.
Peeling on Roof - big peel; Peeling on both rear door sills
LOTS of round and round with local Honda. They offered 50% paint for part of the car -- out of pocket to us $1600.
Negotiated to $1000 for full paint -- except they didn't paint bumbers or mirrors.
Once you get the notice of Honda's extended warranty on paint you should go back to Honda and ask to be fully reimbursed for what you've already paid to get your car repainted.
The Honda Fit's paint is garbage: thin, incomplete, and applied post build. After owning 6 Hondas, mostly from the 90's, I can say that they have definitely gone too far with the cost savings. It may be a practical item, but I am frustrated by the poverty of the build quality. A good paint job, wouldn't add much cost... but when I saw that much of the engine bay wasn't painted from the factory (lift a panel bolt and it won't be painted), I wasn't happy.

Good Idea. Of note: I talked with our Honda dealership and they claim to have no awareness of this. They did say that Honda Civics were covered by a paint warranty in the past and it was a very complete coverage with no cost the owner. They also stated in that in such a situation, money you had paid would likely be reimbursed.
We are still waiting for our letter in the mail -- Has anybody received this already?
Same exact issue. Started by the doors, then the roof. I wonder if we can use our VIN#s to check when/where they were made to see if our cars were in the same paint batch or something.
I’m working on Honda to get some help. I haven’t heard anything about the extended warranty for paint but I hope it’s true!
Yes, warranty is confirmed. 7 years, unlimited mileage on paint.
It is VIN specific, call Honda America Warranty Extension department to confirm.
My car is being repainted. Painters put multiple dents where the roof meets the doors, but that is a separate issue. Thin metal panels.
Still not satisfied with the car. If it were known to be mechanically sound I would be content, but the injector, coil, and cat converter issues make me want to trade in the car before I become a victim.

Thanks! Picking car up from Honda paint shop tomorrow. Final deal was $1000 for paint — buff only bumpers and mirrors.
wateanty should cover the $1000 I would guess...
Agree— concerned. 45k and coil died. Not sure, but seems like MPG is down after new coil still.

Windshield needed to be replaced for roof paint repair. Windshield replacement wasn't Honda EOM. Shop originally agreed on OEM, then said Honda wouldn't cover it.
Honda America said they were a "dead end" regarding OEM parts in paint repairs.

Heads up for others with roof paint issues.
First Honda, I'm done. Will be selling ASAP.
Why does an OEM windshield matter? I’ve gone through a few due to rocks and vandalism and didn’t think it was that big of a deal.
Did they cover the paint job 100%?
How much of your car did they paint? How long did it take?
Does anybody know if the warranty extension also affects paint that has come off on the door (on the top ridge right before the window, much like easysleep's first picture)? That's the only area I've seen on my 2015 Fit with the White Orchard Pearl paint but the bulletin only mentions paint coming off on the roof and the tailgate. Has anybody had an experience with the dealer not painting peeling paint on that part of the door?

It says including but not limited to those areas. You should be covered.
I will give credit where credit is due. My roof has been repainted, and it has breathed new life into my 5 year old vehicle. I actually feel pride in my car. I only wish I hadn't gone through this process with a new vehicle.
Although Honda only covered the roof, the paint shop covered the doors as a courtesy. Windshield was replaced (not OEM) for the repair. I've been told OEM windshields are typically higher quality than aftermarket replacements, meaning that they don't crack as easily and need replacement less often. Who knows if this is true, but my original windshield had several rock chips with no cracks.
Overall, this was a real world repair, which is not perfect. The shop did as good as they could, and Honda did, well, as Honda does. One of the reasons I purchased new was to avoid any major work on my vehicle, which Honda has failed to provide.
What I've learned is to go to the dealer and have everything documented on the Service Record. They might refuse - but still push to have all comments added for later warranty work after 36K miles. Remember the dealership (and the GenMgr and owner) doesn't want to work with the BBB or a state entity.
