Best thing is to bring a mechanic (or mechanically inclined friend) along especially someone familiar with these cars. This car is still relatively new, so you might not see any particular problems.

Too bad you're so far, I'd offer to take a look.
thanks for the sentiment. I mean I figure since it’s CPO it’s already assured the car is up to strict conditions to sell. Might jump the gun and buy after 1 more test drive the first one was literally around the block up to 30 mph. I’m gonna request fwy and mash the shit out of it

Counterpoint: My early (April 2014) Mexican built Fit has perfect fit and finish and has not put a foot wrong.

Voluntary bumper upgrade, coil recall, door recall; none of which made the car better or worse. At 25,000 miles with multiple long trips.

Check TrueDelta for other than anecdotal data.

This post is not intended to diminish the real problems others have had, it's just that they are not universal.

Our Jan '15 Built Fit was bought w/ 40,000+ miles on it CPO, have had few of the problems others have experienced (a couple of very minor paint blemishes and a very small handful of "cold start actuator rattles" ....the car's been great in our possession, perhaps the original owner had any problems rectified, all recalls had been done. Lovin' it 8

Depends what you expect from the car. For me, as an utility car to get from A to B inexpensively, it was a very good decision. After 15.5K miles of usage, I have no issues.

yah if you're buying used get a 2016 or even a 2017. used 2015 is like buying someone else's problem.

It looks like he's pressuring you. Why take the risk of the 2015 when there are a lot of 2016s out there. Find out the mfg data and post it here. Someone will tell you if it is one of the early ones. The 2016s have had few issues of the 2015s.

I would pass and look for a 2016. The financial difference on Fits is very minimal for the risk you assume.

As others have said already including myself, at least get the 2016 and make sure its a J-VIN Fit.

In hindsight I really should have waited and purchased J-VIN Fit. I had to may quality issues on my 2015.

I bought a CPO 15 EXL with Navi. 13,500ish Miles about 11 months ago. It was previously owned by dealer employee so also had every dealer option. Blue footwell lights, fit logo light door sills, body side moldings, rear cargo tray, weather tech mats, sport front grill, clear bra on all front facing body parts ( even with these it has a very small chip on hood that I saw before purchase). I paid 17,000 before tax and dmv fees. With added delux anti theft that others say not to get my OTD price was 19,000. I am in NorCal. I love the car but did have warped rotors resurfaced and it only has 19,000 miles on it. I really like how big the interior is and how it drives and the gas mileage. Am I worried it is not a j vin? Only because I read this forum. I know the service rep at my local dealer from 20 years ago when he worked at the Jeep dealer I bought a 1994 Cherokee from in 2000. I asked him about dependability of different cars and he said, “ cars are cars, some are problem free and others not in all brands”.
Don’t rush into it.. good deals are out there.

Wouldn't have mentioned I need a ride to buy the car. Not a good position negotiate from. Apart from that, it appears you're doing your own due diligence, good onya.
