Interesting that 0-60 was .2 seconds slower and brake distance increased. Lots of variables so not definitive. Is the 2018 heavier with the thicker windscreen and other sound deadening?
Looks like skidpad is slightly higher so maybe the tweaked suspension helped?

The Fit is just going a different direction than myself or Car and Drive testers would want. The GK will probably be fondly remembered when Honda brings out the next generation that will be even less sporty.
Hard to blame Honda. The GD sort of scratched the surface of the hot hatch arena. The next generation could have gone all in and competed with the GTI, FiST, and hatches offered in Europe, but Honda instead decided to take it a notch the other direction with the GE. Then took it another notch away with the GK. Was probably not a bad move given that the hot hatch market is continuing to shrink.
However, the market for a practical, sporty appearing, economical car will likely never go away. The GE is an easier car to live with than the GD and the same can be said for the GK over GE. I'm betting the next version will be even more polished and comfortable at the sake of true sports car pretensions.

The problem is magazines test the Fit for what it was not designed to do. C&D did highlight the magic seats in the Sports version. On the plus side, the GK Fit is the best looking Fit of all.

I've had my 2018 Sport for a week now and agree with them about the clutch. I'm still getting used to it. I also agree about the engine being buzzy at highway speeds, which for me are over 120 km/h. It's not a deal breaker though and for longer trips I have the option of taking my Civic Si. The are correct about the steering too but most electric systems suck. Honda's is far from the worst.
However, I disagree about the shifter. It's easy to reach for me and it feels great. Of course I have the HFP titanium shift knob which is taller. I also think the Fit is pretty fun to toss around but haven't driven a GD or GE to compare. I do have an actual sports car in my MX-5 so it's not like I don't know what sporty is.

fit is a great utility car for its size and price. perfect for college kids and young folks starting out. or for someone like my wife who don't care anything about a car as long as it doesnt break down and can carry stuff and cheap to replace if anything happened to it.
