Information Display Issues

I moved to Maryland from Louisiana and it seems the cold weather is messing with my information display. I’ve noticed that when the temperature is below 30 degrees, the screen will go up and turn all blue. Then a few minutes later, it’ll come back on but the numbers and bars for the fuel gauge will be scrambled. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks.

I had cold related problems with the LED display on my 2000 Insight back in the day. But I live in a warmer climate now, so haven't noticed any issues with the Fit

This is the 2nd time I've read about this issue on this forum. I've never had any issues with my multifunction display. Is it still under warranty?

No! but does it make a difference if you're stopped or driving and what happens when you press the knob? Does the screen change?

Have you had problems with your Garmin?
Man, I have one I bought nearly a decade or more ago, and it still works great. I "almost" wish it would stop working because the newer ones have some features I think I'd like that my old one does not have, but I can't justify buying a new one, as long as the ancient Garmin is still working.
But I've been amazingly impressed with how durable my Garmin has been.

Also my dad bought a newer Garmin and it doesn't have the Australian Accent Woman.
.......I'd miss her.

Actually no problem with the Honda displays that could be related to the changes in temperature. But the Garmin Nuvi (also bought about a decade ago} has screwed up ONCE and iw was below zero and the device was on the window. On, it was in a Suzuki SX4.

I've never had that issue and I've driven in single digit Fahrenheit temps with my multi-function display. Hope you get it sorted out.

I have a Garmin NUVI 350 and I hav the Australian Karen voice selected. My newer doesn't have it and I don't like the selections as much. I remember paying over $700 new for it back in 2005? Now you can get one for $100 with more features, unlimited map updates and a larger screen. It's in the trunk as a backup, but typically I use Waze on my cell phone these days.

This is going on with my daughter's car. Only in cold weather. Works fine all summer. Did you ever find a reason? Hers is a 2015

its a fairly well known issue....now......the display is soldered to the board and the 5 connections "break" it seems due to not enough solder. there is someone who did a u tube on how to remove dash and fix. if you know how to solder itl ooks pretty dooable

Yes, it's a bad solder job. Honda should have given an extended warranty on it, but they didn't. I believe there's a few threads on this issue if you do a search. It can be fixed but requires a messy dash disassembly and some minor re-soldering on the circuit board. In the previous post it's mentioned that there's at least one YouTube post on this.

Here is a pretty good video on the fix:

Cost under $1 in solder and about a couple hours to do if you are comfortable with handling a solder iron for electronic.
