2015 GK Keyless Access Indicator Lights on
Hello guys,
I have a 2015 GK Fit with around 70 thousand kilometers on my ODO, I have been looking all over the web what is needed to be replaced or checked since the indicator went on.
Its been bothering me for several weeks now although as of writing its seems that it does not affect the performance of the car. I went to the dealership to have it checked and what they did was I think reset the ECU, the warning was gone only for a few hours. The dealership said that I need to replace my PUSH START STOP button in order for the error to go away. Is this really the culprit?
Have anyone of you have had the same experience? What did you do? Thanks in advance for your feedback

I guess I will have to admit that I don’t know exactly what a “keyless access indicator light” is.
The other day I saw a little “key” icon light up when I went to start the car. I replaced the battery in the fob and it went away. Is that what you mean?

The lowbat
Looking at the manual that icon is listed as the Smart Entry System Indicator. Sorry I don't have any other advice. The only suggestion in the manual is to go to the dealer which you've already done.
Before I did anything I might just try replacing the battery in the Fob..or both fobs if you have two.
Then resetting the ECU and seeing what happens.
That's cheap....and even if it isn't the answer, won't hurt anything.
You say:
" The dealership said that I need to replace my PUSH START STOP button in order for the error to go away. Is this really the culprit? "
Well I can understand skepticism. I'd want some type of comprehensible explanation as to why the Start Button would be causing this error.
I've personally never read a thread or post where someone had a similar problem and similar diagnosis.
But that doesn't mean that isn't the real culprit. Only that this is the first time I've ever heard that solution being offered for that particular problem.
And I think 1st I'd just try replacing the batteries in my Key Fobs.
Layman ignorance possible, but hard for me to understand how the Start Button would cause a code for the keyless entry system. Especially if as you also say the performance of the vehicle doesn't seem to be affected. That is, the start button seems to be working?
I'd first just change the batteries. If that works? Great...and if it works? I'd never go back to that dealership.

As of writing there is no problem starting the car.
Actually someone already sent me a message via facebook having the same problem, he was luckier the first time it happened, his car is still under warranty.
he said, the dealership replaced it for free but now the problem recurred and his GK is the same as mine we both have almost the same mileage 70 thousand plus kilomteres, here in the philippines honda only gives us a three year warranty or 100 thousand kilometer whichever comes first.
My GK is not under warranty anymore and damn.. pardon me.. the push start button costs 12 thousand pesos that about USD240 its not cheap, I'm afraid that if it recurs then I'll pay them again 12k bucks.. that aint cheap!!.. its highway robbery!!
I'm researching because maybe there is/are other reasons why this indicator comes on, I think the honda mechanics here are not researching enough.

I had the same thing happen to my car under warranty and went through all the normal hoops of checking and changing the FOB battery and all related systems. The car finally refused to turn off using the push to start button which is when I took it straight to the dealer and had them replace the button. Have put on another 45,000 miles since then without issue (knock on wood.)

thanks dude.. maybe its really the only way to fix this problem.. ill just save up for the replacement button
Yep it happened to me recently at 69,000 miles. I was having what I thought was was starter button problems. I bought and installed new button from HondaPartsNow.com. It didn’t fix it but now the keyless access light came on and my fob lost communication with the car. I do most of my own work but now I was forced to go to the dealer. It became above my skill level.
The dealer said I needed a new Smart Entry control unit and charged me $1300. I took my car and everything worked except the damn button was still only working half the time. I brought it back and they said I had a bad starter. Another $800. Well everything is fixed perfect but that hurt. Brick and mortar and labor I understand but they charged double for the parts.

Well, everything is working on my car. I clicked the button a bunch of time quickly and rather firm and also removed and reinstalled the remote battery and light went off. I don’t know why. I should have done one of those things at a time. Damn, that’s like 2100 in repairs . Hope I don’t need to go there
