Stainless Heavyweight Shift Knob.. Installed!

Upgraded the stock shift knob to an eBay special stainless one. It has the 6 Speed pattern which I like, but more importantly the weight makes it feel significantly more confident through the gates. Has that Type R-esque look which we all know adds 10 HP.

You'll need a 10x1.5 nut as a lock ring or just buy a shift boot retainer in the same size to cover the gap between the boot and the knob

did you buy a shift boot retainer? or did you use a nut to close the gap?

any more up close pics of the gap (if any)

Sure thing. I bought a "low profile" shift boot retainer off of eBay 10x1.5 threading.

Since the factory Sport boot retainer doesnt actually connect to the factory shift knob (I had a previous post about it), I used a retaining nut to hold and align the shift knob but the hexagon sides made it uncomfortable since my knuckles kept rubbing on the edges. I bought the eBay retainer because of the sloped curves which is way more comfy. I left a slight gap (millimeters) in between the ebay retainer and the factory boot just like the way it came for some reason.

It the black retainer honestly makes it look factory. Since it matches the gloss black of the surrounding trim..
