Do you mean just the cupholders themselves, or the whole center console? Whole center piece, yeah, but I don't believe you can just remove the cupholders themselves - at least it doesn't appear so on my '15 LX 6 spd mt

In my '16, once you've removed the 1 screw holding the usb/hdmi/cig lighter, you'll see another screw that holds the cupholders.

... everything is removable, especially if the goal is weight reduction.
