Voltage reading

Voltage reading
New owner of a 2016 EX-L CVT here. I have had a 07 Honda Accord V6 for over 11 years and do everything on it myself, so I'm not new to everything DIY on my own cars. I have a question regarding the electrical system on the 3rd gen Honda Fit. I am used to monitoring vehicle voltage using a plug-in volt meter. I noticed that this car runs at 12.6V at idle or during normal driving conditions with no accessories on?? Voltage shoots up to 14V+ exactly during braking. When headlights are on, voltage runs at 14V+ again. I do not have any indication on the dash that there is any issue with the electrical system, I'm just concerned coming from an old 07 Accord with only ELD on the alternator almost always running at 13.5V+ with no electrical distribution panel at the battery's positive terminal. Is this the expected behavior of the electrical system of this car? thanks!

You are correct the voltage is operating normally. I also run a voltmeter full time on my 2015 Fit. It will turn off the alternator when their is no load and battery has a high enough voltage. When the charging kicks in it normally runs 14.1 to 14.2 volts.
All is OK

Thank you for that. On a side note, since I primarily drive the Accord and not the Fit as much, I always plug in the Fit to a battery minder. I always find about 12.3V only on the Fit's battery after a drive.
For those that did the 51R battery upgrade, is this still the same case? I will most likely go to that setup soon.
