Limited Lifetime Warranty
And they will say it's defective because of something I did. Nothing electrical may be returned for a refund or exchange. I know that's the general rule, but when the receipt says Limited Lifetime Warranty, I would think that means something. I think I'll send it back to the company and see how they respond.
Say it failed. Get a new one in the box. Go to another store and return the new one in the box Simple
That's too bad.
But in life?
When I see the statements..."Lifetime Warranty" or "Limited Lifetime Warranty"...that's just a marketing phrase. You always need to know how those terms are being defined, and by what parameters.
It's often ridiculous how little those phrases can really mean in practice. You are often left at the mercy of interpretation and minutia.
Good Luck.

This. In the case of a lifetime warranty the question is “whose lifetime are we talking about?” Is it my lifetime, the car I’m installing it in, or the lifetime of the part itself?
Personally, I think it's your store? I bought a set of rear wheel cylinders from Advance for my sons 2002 ZX2. Ripped open the bags with greasy hands, handled the part with greasy hands only to find out the part was wrong. I got the right part according to the package, but the part was physically 1/4" shorter. I went to Auto Zone and their part was correct so I bought them. I expected hassle since everything was torn open and dirty. Went to return them and I explained the situation and he refunded my money hassle free. I had the old one in my car just in case, but it wasn't necessary.
Last attempt to resolve the issue.
Take it back for a refund. If the store refuses, leave the MAS on the counter and leave. You can't use it anyway. Explain the problem to your credit card if you paid by it.. CC is good at resolving issues, and most of the time in your favor.

How long ago did you buy it? I think you are confusing "warranty" with "return policy". If you are within the return period, then they should give you a refund. After the return period ends then their only obligation is to replace it with a working part, not refund your money. You wouldn't expect Best Buy to refund a TV you bought from them that broke after 6 months, but the repair of the TV would be covered by the manufacturer 1 year warranty.

As for returning it to AutoZone or Advance Auto (I forget which one had the part in stock), that's the only place I could return it. The Ck Eng light came back on after two days, and that's when I returned it. I'm not going to bother with the credit card company because legally, the store didn't do anything wrong. They didn't lie or cheat me. The non-Honda part was no good for use on a Honda, but it was my choice to pay $76 rather than $268. Store policy forbids accepting returns of electrical items. When I bought it, I could have asked about the details of the "LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY," but I didn't. Lesson learned.
Assuming I have to replace the injectors, I'll buy them from Honda online for $145 each, rather than getting generics for a fraction of the price. Of course, now that the Ck Eng light is on again, maybe I should have kept the generic MAF in there. The car doesn't have to be inspected for another year, so there's no rush. We've spent over $650 and driven over 400 miles, and it's no better than it was in August..
Must be your store? Today I helped my girlfriend fix her daughters Trailblazer. It needed a new blower motor resistor. I bought the cheaper white box one only to find the wires were too short. Took it back after installing it with the original to show that the wires were too short. Had them bring out the one that was $6 more. The wires were the same length as the original. They took it back without issue and sold me the other. As a side note, they just put the other one back in the box and back on the shelf
