No sound issue!!

Driving around doing some errands and noticed my Fit just stopped producing sound. Not even beeps or "please fasten seatbelt warning". Radio no good. Android Auto no good. Screen is fine. Functions and buttons are fine - just no sound. Even showed my Spotify playing. Shut the car off... About an hour later the sound came back. Sat for a few hours and went for another drive and it seemed fine until it just stopped again while on the highway. Spotify was still playing but no sound.
Rebooted via power button and then everything worked.

Came home and researched... Some guys on the CivicX forums have had some issues as well. Supposedly a TSB.

Anyone have this issue on their GKs???

Kind of annoying because I just got past the water leak issue in the door(fingers crossed on the fix) .

Yeah, reboot didn't work either.

It's back working now, but still worrisome

I suspect a software issue, given the intermittent nature of the disappearing sound.

You didn't mention if you're still in warranty. If you are, I'd take it back to the dealer and get their input. Might be as simple as a software flash.

If not in warranty, I'd contact Honda corporate and see if they can offer assistance (especially if there's a TSB published). When out of warranty, I like this better than taking it to a dealer first. Honda corporate can offer more options than any single dealer can.

My MY15 would do this, I had to take it to the stealership when it wasn't functioning for them to believe me. The had to reflash the head unit to fix the issue... Good luck

Mad an appointment with DCH Honda. Not sure how i'm gonna replicate this before going in because its working today. They want the day with the car. Which will probably be a waste of time if its working. Anyone know of a TSB specific to the Fit? Seems like some of the folks on the Accord and CivicX forums have gotten a reflash or an update so this has to be a known issue on the Honda infotainment units.

It might be a known issue on the Accord and Civic side of the fence but on the Fit it remains a rare, random problem because I don't recall any other posts like this. Certainly no TSBs.

I have a Fit EXL 2018 and also did a radio malfunction, 3 times, it lost sound and even operation of any controls . then all of a sudden, it reset itself, and a screen message said Radio lost power, and is resetting, please wait, then everything came back on its own.

So I took the car into Honda and even showed them the recording of it actually happening from my phone, but could not recreate the issue even after having it all day. This was expected since it was a random issue. They did, however, found a software update that they did.

So far, the issue hasn't popped up again.

UPDATE to the Update!

Unbeknownst to me, DCH Honda had already ordered a brand new headunit and called me last week to schedule the service. Even though I left my last appointment with them telling me that the issue couldn't be recreated and to come back if it does.
So today I got a new unit installed in my car.

So for those with a 2018+ and have issues with sound, this might be the fix.
