Windshield Washers

I discovered two interesting things about my windshield washers.

1. They are difficult to adjust.
2. The stream of water is greatly affected by wind when I'm driving.

All the other cars I've owned have a had a ball-and-socket arrangement for the washer nozzle. I'd insert a pin into the opening and rotate it to where I wanted it. My Fit has a slot, rather than a hole, so I had to use a small screwdriver to move it. It didn't move easily, so it was lots of trial and error. Eventually, I had all the streams hitting just above the center of the windshield. When I got on the road, the stream of water was down at the bottom of the windshield again. It was fine stopped, but the wind from driving pushed it down. I've never had this happen on any other car. Does the Fit have a weak washer pump?

Yup, I’ve had to learn to wash the windshield when the car is either stopped or moving very slowly.

There must be a solution for that. How about using a pump from a different car?

EDIT: I asked three friends who have the CR-V, and the spray always hits the center of the windshield - moving or standing still. I know it won't be a direct replacement, but I'm sure it's possible.

Yeah I use up a lot more windshield washer fluid in the Fit than the 4Runner because stream doesn't hit right. I've learned to live with it.

For my Saturn Astra, everyone was changing the OEM washer nozzles with Insignia nozzles. It was night and day.

I'll probably live with it, too. The washer pump is buried down deep.
