I just bought a 2017 MT Fit back in November, and was wondering what sort of oil change frequency everybody goes by. Do you wait for a certain percentage on the oil life? Every 5000 km? Let me know!

 

I always let the MID tell me. I like living on the edge and wait until it reaches 5%. But I use Mobile 1 Full Synthetic and really do not have a worry that it would break down that soon so very comfortable waiting until it reaches 5%. I have couple other Acuras and do the same with those.

 

I wait for the MM to alert at 15%. Then I just do it at my next available free time since it annoys me to see it every time I start the vehicle. Usually it gets done at 15%, sometimes 10 and only once did I not have the time to do it till it was at 5%.

 

I do very little driving, maybe 6000 km (4000 miles) a year, virtually all highway, and so I simply change the oil once a year. At the 3 year point later this year I'll be getting the brake fluid changed.
