Programming key FOB

I want to get an extra key fob, I have the orginal 2 key fobs and they both work. Is it possible to program a 3rd key FOB that you buy online, or does it take special tools ?
2015 Fit Ex, California .

THanks

. Requires software, but any modern lock and key type place should be able to do it...if the Fit programming allows more than two fobs to be linked...on a previous vehicle, they had to delete one to add a new one (bought used, only got one fob/key)

I matched the FCC ID and bought a two-pack of blanks for $35 on Amazon and found a local mobile auto locksmith to come to me. He charged me $80 and programmed and cut both new keys, and they work perfectly. All-in it cost me $115 for two keys, or 85% less than the dealer quoted.

If you are talking about the key fob for the LX, a legit locksmith can do it for $85. Each key has a chip that can manually operate the doors and ignition even without the battery in the fob.
