2017 LX Audio shuts off
2017 LX Audio shuts off
This has happened the last four times I have driven my car but never before. I'll be listening to a podcast or something from my phone using bluetooth, eventually pause what I'm listening to to text or check an app (because I'm a responsible driver) and then when the thing starts playing again there's no audio. BUT the weird part is its like the whole audio system goes out, can't switch source, phone buttons do nothing, power button does nothing, the clock is still on the screen and you can access settings but that's it. Then once the car is turned off and started again, its all good.
I have seen different Audio issues after searching this forum, but not this. Any help is much appreciated.

Software issue. The LX head unit doesn't play nice with all aftermarket accessories and their associated software.
When I first got my '16 LX, I took a few long road trips. Had an ipod loaded with music for the areas with no radio reception, of which there were plenty.
Every now and then - and completely without warning - the head unit would freeze completely while I was listening to the ipod. Buttons, dials - nothing. No sound anywhere. Disconnected the ipod, but the unit was still frozen. Only way to get everything going again was to power down the engine and start 'er up again. On a long trip, this was wildly impractical. Honda was no help, they said it wasn't their problem, and wished me luck.
That's when I went aftermarket and got a Sony head unit. No such freezing problems as with the original LX head unit.
