I tried this, i have a 6 speed. One click of the handbrake makes the screen work as it's obviously tied into the same warning as the handbrake light. But once you get to the speed/distance that the doors lock themselves the screen turns off.

So its tied into two different systems. Although I know its not a gps system because i was three floors down in a underground car park.
