'16 LX iPod issue
I've had my '16 LX for close to two months now, and I've noticed something really annoying. Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.
I'm using an iPod Classic for music and podcasts on long trips. Today, I'm on a long trip listening to a podcast, when suddenly, the USB trident disappears from the screen, the iPod is disconnected, the message "Please Check Owners Manual" or "Device Not Found" appears, and there's no way to get it working again unless I shut off the engine and restart the car. The iPod is completely normal at this point when the USB is unplugged, perfectly functional, but for whatever reason, the head unit just disconnects it without warning and then refuses to reconnect while driving.
Turning the radio off and on again doesn't help, and unplugging the iPod and replugging it also doesn't help. Have to restart the engine. Then all is back to normal until it happens again. This has happened enough times that it's no longer an isolated incident, it's a pattern.
My previous GD3 with an aftermarket Pioneer head unit never had this problem. It's seriously making me consider another aftermarket head unit. I do a fair amount of listening to the iPod while traveling and don't like messing with recalcitrant electronics to do so.
