Don’t Buy Honda’s Manufactured in Mexico (Fits/CR-V)
Just my horrible experience with my Honda Fit. Paint started chipping at 42000 miles. Rust happened in less than a year. Honda knows that the 2015-2018 Fits and CR-V have a paint problem. They issued a recall but my vin number is not part of the recall. I GOT SCRWED. Learn from your my mistake. Don’t buy a Honda Fit or CR-V.
See this thread, the paint issue is not just Mexican made fits as it's affecting US made vehicles like my Odyssey:
Peeling paint
Service bulletin that I got doesn't show any VINs.

Paint issue definitely is not user error. Check out the thread I linked and you'll see that Honda is offering a warranty extension on the paint for 7 years. Multiple Honda models are affected, and they are built in different plants. It has to be due to their paint process or materials used.
We have a 2014 Accord at home that had paint problems. The paint chipped just like the one in the video. Honda took care of it.
The person in the video obviously didn't take care of the vehicle. Rust doesn't happen over night. When paint is peeling off, leaving the bare metal exposed to the elements will lead to rust. Honda has a problem with paint, fine. Leaving it unattended is pure neglect.
