Farewell 2018 Fit

What all started two summers ago with a nasty hail storm that made the parking lot of the Target look like a scene out of War movie with glass shattering and windows blowing up all over the whole parking lot my 2016 Chevrolet Spark LS the base model was totaled the paint was so messed up it was down to bare metal and spots and was totaled.
I took this chance to up my game to a 2018 fit didn't really know which model but I settled on a sport with 7 miles on the odometer brand new from the dealership wasn't bad maybe 16000 Plus whatever else they sell you clear bra Etc financing.
now mind you I do time to miles on my vehicles around 10,000 miles a month.
my first setback was the dust shield below the engine on the underside of the car the approach angles to a few of my customers and a few neighborhoods eventually had it hanging off busted and it needed to be replaced which was several 100$ for a piece of plastic on a car that already sits way to low my opinion.

At almost exactly 75000 miles I got the dreaded bunch of Dash warning lights on the left of the speedometer the one that shows up in some of these people's posts it was intermittent at first and I noticed it was turning off my cruise control but not stalling out the vehicle so after a few weeks I brought it into the dealership by this time the injectors running rich had fouled up the catalytic converter and that had to be replaced 4 injectors plus a catalytic converter as you can imagine just the injectors were around 2,000 at the dealership plus catalytic converter which is almost the same. The only other option would be an independent shop and all the independent shops around where I spend most of my time are about a two to three-week wait to get your vehicle in for service.
Latest setback was another 75000 miles exact same symptoms happen again with the warning lights and I brought the vehicle into the nearest dealership I could find witches in a rather nice area and pretty reputable but different from the dealership where I bought the vehicle at. Next morning sure enough injectors we're throwing a code for running rich and we're falled I needed to be replaced $2,000 luckily the catalytic converter was fine this time. I had to wait an extra day for parts because a Honda Fit that was just brought in a several hours before me head the same issue it was a 2015 that just got up to 75000 miles and the injectors went out just as minded sorry to wait an extra day for the car to be finished at the dealership but three days without my vehicle is lot better than 2 to 3 weeks. So everything was good then at a hundred fifty thousand miles but I figured shoot I better get rid of this vehicle before 220,000 miles rolled around.
today I'm sitting at just under 170000 miles 166k to be precise my brakes I've never been replaced there still performing well but down to 2 millimeters on the pads, they will need to be replaced too soon also the alternator is starting 2 not perform where should be at I get to make headlights at low idle especially if the AC compressor is going.
in case you're wondering I bought the vehicle in July 2018 it has served me well despite the costly repairs but I figure it's time to move on with this many miles I'm facing getting nickel and dimed to death with various repairs that will come up as the vehicle approaches and goes past 200,000 miles I'll throw in a few pictures if I can get them to upload from where I'm at. Soon-to-be farewell, fit freaks
Dan

Man, that's a lot of driving, I just cleared 100k in a 2015 LX. I'd be looking at anything Toyota if I had that kind of duty cycle, they always seem to be at the top of the reliability ratings. A bit too boring for most of their models, or I'd have one myself.

Ever think about doing your own maintenance? My splash shield was torn off in heavy snow, but I never bothered replacing it. Turns out Wasserball was right, any effect on fuel economy isn't noticeable (at least with my driving style). My cat never went bad, but I replaced it with an RV6 pipe, so I won't have to worry about it, and there isn't even a check engine light. Part cost $330, did the work in my driveway in less than three hours.

Brakes are an easy job, changing the starter took some thought to reach the upper bolt but probably less than two hours of work. And every time I do some moderate level of mechanical work, I probably save a few hundred dollars compared to the dealership especially. Even if you don't stick with the Fit, saving money is good with any brand.

I was trying to go for a used 20 17 Yaris the ones that are built in France with the 4-speed automatic but I could not find a single one of them that was not a rental vehicle as far as doing well and maintenance 14 wouldn't trust myself to not mess something up even more well besides brake pads but two I I'm on the road most of the time either staying at a hotel or with friends my permanent residences just a travel trailers that I'm never at

Wow 2 sets of injectors needing replacement? That's crazy!! I don't blame you for wanting to get out before another $2k bill comes up.

Do you have any hypothesis on why 2 sets of injectors needed replacement?

What type and brand were you using? Some people say top tier is the way to go, but I just buy the cheapest 87 I can find and am not picky with the brand. Murphy is what it's getting most because that's the closest. I'm at 87K and so far so good (touch wood)

sits way to low my opinion
Subaru Crosstrek?

It'll be a hit in mileage (27/33 vs 33/40), but it has 8.7" Ground Clearance.
