Hardcore VW enthusiast, closet Honda fanatic. Here's my GK5
Hello everyone. I'm a new Honda Fit owner. Last week I purchased a white 2017 Fit LX 6 speed, my very first new car.
I've been a long time VW enthusiast and currently have a very involved project car (currently getting a new fully built engine) and a daily driver with 200k+ miles. I have always loved both VW and Japanese cars, but the theft of golden era Hondas (and even newer Si's) was too high for me to invest in one, as my VW project takes up the garage.
I picked up the fit for daily driving dutys and light modification. The lack of engine aftermarket makes me hopeful that this wont turn into anything crazy. I have plans for simple thinga like exhaust, lowering springs and shocks, wheels and tires, sway bar, etc.
Hope to update his regularly. Loving the car already!

They're actually A13s that i picked up to replace my old ATS type 10s. Car currently has full bolt ons and mild cams, built trans with custom gear ratios, short final drive, wavetrac diff, etc. Lots of old period correct engine parts too like the Turn2 intake and EIP manifold!
New engine is getting a blueprinted, lightened and balanced bottom end with a ported and polished head, valve job, full ligtweight valvetrain, TT276 cams, higher compression. Nitrous is a possibility. No boost, i prefer all motor.

So far my immediate plans include a set of Weathertech floormats, as this will be my daily driver through all seasons. I have EX floormats for the summer though.
I would like to be able to hear the engine/exhaust while driving so I don't have to always glance at the tach, so an exhaust is in order.
So far I have planned:
-Spoon Duracon 6 speed shift knob
-Low profile shift boot adapter
-HKS silent hi-power exhaust
-Swift lowering springs
-Buddy club wheels (15x6.5 et42)
-195/55/15 UHP summer tires
-Progress rear sway bar
Wish they would make some high quality or official aftermarket ground effects instead of questionable eBay stuff! Maybe it's a good thing that they don't, to keep me from going overboard on this car too lol

2017 VW Golf Wolfsburg 5M
Dang, that's so cool ThadCastle. I'd like to find a gently used MK6 GTI 6M someday before I get too old to enjoy it. We're a VW family too. Turning our '10 TDI 6M back to VW next week and just took delivery of my wife's Golf Wolfsburg 5M last week as seen above.

Cylinder head for the VW is finished, block should be finished up soon (lightened, blueprinted, balanced). Once it's in my hand I still need to assemble the engine and order up a clutch kit and get to work. Also going to be building a minibike for some summer shenanigans!
Both of which are hindering modifications of the Fit. I might just wait until it is out of warranty before doing anything. Maybe begin stockpiling parts once I sell a TON of old/spare VW parts.

2..Build the two-wheeler
3. plan further upgrades for the GK.
If the Fit is still under warranty, any mechanical mods are reason enough for dealers to deny coverage.
Good luck n post your progress!!!
