Thanks dude, Ive been following your thread aswell. Do you have any plans to wheels for your build? Im assuming you do since you have some Camber bolts on hand.

You're very welcome and thank you for checking out my thread! Yes, new wheels are definitely on my list of things to buy.

San Gabriel Mountains:
Luckily for me these mountains are only a few minutes drive from where I live so ive made it a habit to take a drive up and down them at least once a week for the past 5 or so years. Ive put together a nice route for anyone interested in exploring the area. Make sure you have about half a tank of gas and some snacks and drinks. Round trip is about 2 hours if you stop to enjoy the views.
Go early and stop by The Donut Man in Glendora before you head up.

Sure, heres the latitude / longitude of the location. A copy paste into google maps should do the trick.

Faces
I took a wheel off and get some weights and take some better photos. This should help give a better idea of the shape of the face on this RPF1 and how differently the face can look depending on the angle.
Enkei RPF1 16x7 +43: 13.70 lbs (Enkei’s website)
OEM Honda EX 16x6 +53: 22.01 lbs (Myxalplyx’s forum thread)
OEM All-Season Firestone 185/55/16: 16.00 lbs (Tirerack’s website)
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 205/50/16: 21.00 lbs (Tirerack’s website)
Weight:
OEM Total: 38.01 lbs per corner
Aftermarket Total: 34.70 lbs per corner
Difference: -3.31 lbs per corner
Overall: 13.24 lbs of unsprung weight.
Tire width:
OEM: 185 at all corners
Aftermarket: 205 at all corners
Per corner: 20mm (0.80 inches)
Overall: 80mm (3.20 inches)
I weighed my Enkei/Michelin combo and can confirm 34.70 lbs as being accurate. However I dont have my OEM combo available. If anyone would like to confirm those weights for me that would be great.

Heavy
Yeah I thought so too. I actually thought it was a mistake at first but I checked the specs on some other tires that come in 205/50/16 and they range from 19 to 23 lbs. Didnt see any correlation between type of tire and weight. Max Summer Performance, All-Season, and Economy tires all seem to be either 21 or 22 lbs, except for a few that sneak in lower than that or come in a bit heavier.
I wouldnt buy tires based off their weight but its interesting that the same size tire can differ by 4 pounds or more.
Just some weights on other popular tires
Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R: 22.00 lbs
Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec: 21.00 lbs
Toyo Proxes R1R: 22.00 lbs

Classic setup. Looks great. Running a 15" 205/50 setup would have saved you nearly twice as much rotational weight, slightly less with a 205/55 and gearing would be near the same as your 16" setup. Running a 205/50 15" setup will bring your final drive ratio up to to about 4.8, so acceleration improves at the cost of higher rpm/mph. Assuming you have an mt.

Awesome! Both wheels look really nice. I was deciding between the RPF's and what I have on now, but really wanted Bronze (and RPF Bronze didn't come in a Fit friendly size). Your grey / silver setup looks really great though!

Thanks

Not a whole lot has been going on with the car. Heres a few photos from 2018.
Myself and @USDM in this first one.
Wish I had more things of interest to show off but this is sort it for 2018. Im right around 25k miles and a lot of those have been spent now on eibach springs with OEM absorbers. My initial impression was that this setup was tolerable enough, but far from ideal. The same is true today, this setup is under dampened. Its fairly unremarkable on smooth roads, however, on less fortunate roads the ride can be extremely jarring. I am interested in improving or replacing my setup if I can find a solution that doesnt break the bank and provides a decent ride quality while maintaining its current ride height.
I havent really made the time to research it myself, but if you have please drop me a comment or DM with specifics on what youve found.

ever consider adding koni orange, in the mix? it would retain the ride height, tho I feel you still may find the dampening to be low (ymmv on this one, alot of people seem to love koni + lower springs)
and off topic but, I did some suspension work (which you may appreciate, since you do canyon runs at gmr), if I may recommend the following:
-Rigid Collars
-Torque Rod (liquid urethane fill/windo weld fill OR buy a hard/metal one)
-Bushings for lower control arm, and rear beam from https://powerflexusa.com/fit2014.aspx
thanks for posting up the GMR map, I emailed that link to myself for a future cruise!

Yeah Ive considered the Konis. But from what I understand, they only make struts for the GD, and if installed them on a GK they void any sort of warranty. Nearly 5 years and koni still doesnt make a GK5 specific strut.

you mean ge8 right?
but yea, the ones I own are ge8 specific, but they work fine. the rears are just shorter ... but hey... it works.
as far as the warranty goes, if my koni's ever needed servicing, I would (personally speaking) at that point just move onto another product, and dump the koni's and avoid the process of:
-sending in (and paying shipping fees out of pocket) the koni's
-waiting for koni to approve the claim
-waiting for koni to send back a replacement
for those who dont have a spare car, I'm sure the above would not even be an option as it would involve the car being "down"

1 more wrench to throw at ya .... how about coilovers? I am currently riding on Tein Street Advance Z. They are twin tube, so believe it or not, they actually ride more comfy than oem, and more comfy than koni/springs. And IMO, handle better as well (YMMV on this one).
