my original gen FIT always had a smaller zippier feel to it...I am thinking it was the 14" rims and tires...smaller tires have better acceleration characteristics, I am told. Not that I'm ever driving a pilon course or anything...but that car just felt more like a small Honda. My current GK is a better car...but it feels so big in comparison. I have the sport with 16 inch rims and lower profile tires. I actually think those tires look funny and that I'd prefer a more classic 14 or 15 inch rim and higher sidewall tire for many reasons.

Has anyone bucked the trend and went smaller?? If so, do you have any pics of your FIT with smaller rims/tires? And any thoughts on how smaller rims tires makes the car feel?

My Lancer ran 215/45R18 and i don't miss the expense every time they needed to be replaced. I enjoy spending less than $150 for a set of decent tires for my 15inch steelies.
Ironically enough (though it doesn't look as sculpted) the fit is more practical, more reliable, more fun, and faster then the GTS Lancer ever was and I think the lower wheel/tire spun weight contributes to this.

I'd also be curious how a 14 (or even a 13) would do. I guess the big thing would be brake clearance.

15" Rims

I bought an extra set of rims for my 2019 Fit Sport and I wanted 15" for for the second set. I have snow tires on them. There were more choices of snow tires for the 15s and the prices were lower. I also wanted a little more tire between the rim and the road even though it was just 1/2 inch.

I'm not sure if a 14" rim will mount on the Fit. It it will you should try it. The only thing I would worry about is that 14" tires are getting harder to find.

Good hunting and I hope it works out great.

Sorry about the dusty wheels. We haven't had rain in 14 days and I live on a dirt road. This is day two since the last washing.

Nice wheels for winter!
I've made the same decision to have 15x6 wheels for winter and my GK5 Jazz Dynamic has the same 16x6 originals as you have. I'd even be tempted to have very light Volk CE28N 15x5.5 wheels, but the cost is unjustifiable.

There is not as good as a selection of tires in 14". 15's are much more common these days.

I looked stateside for 15" wheels. None decient that were under $150 and still missing the center caps. I got these from Indoniasia. $85 each and free shipping. I got them in less than 10 days and packed perfectly for the trip from the other side of the world.
