Want to paint my '09's brake calipers red!

I know I could go to any car forum and ask this question , but of course, I'm gonna come here first!

2009 Orange Revolution Fit Sport, under 60,000 miles, I love my car!

Hubby is doing some work to remove rust from my chrome wheels and I've always wanted red calipers.

So, let's paint them!

Any recommendations for the best paint to use? ( I don't want to replace them)

Thanks!
Lisa W

I would say any caliper paint.

Must important thing to do is a good clean up before: remove any rust and grease.

If you track your car, the paint won't last and will lift from the heat. But for street use, it should last a couple of years.

Any caliper paint better than another?
(Street use vehicle... so yay on lasting!)

Thanks!

In the end it should probably be the same thing...Don't remember what I used when I did them on my Accord almost 20 years ago.

At that time, there was spray paint and brush paint. I used the brush kit as I felt that the spray kit would do a mess spraying on everything around the calipers (and didn't want to mask everything).

I once used the G2 brush on kit and it dries into a hard shiny shell. I got some on the driveway and I never could take it off, survived there til I moved lol.

Here is a pic of when I first did my brakes on my car. I just used red engine paint.

I would have just left it stock. That really isn't an improvement.

It was an improvement to the rusted out stock rotors that were on there. Regardless I just wanted to show what a simple red engine paint spray would do to the calipers.
All the anti seize is because I had a hell of a time getting the old rotor bolts off. Had to drill and hammer the rotor off. Didn't want that problem again. I painted my rear drums the same red engine color.
