After market horn harness
After market horn harness
I’m planning to purchase a pair of hella horns to swap out the stock meep meep horn. I’m planning to get a wire harness with a fuse like what I have previous done on my civic. I’ve just discovered that the fit only has one horn and as a result only has one harness connection point. The kits they have for Hella have two connections for the high and low. My question is would I be able to still use this harness and just tape off one of the connectors or do they have a wire harness made for our cars?
I went through this five or six years ago. The Gen 2 Fits have 2 horns. One is the normal steering wheel horn and the other is part of the security system. I removed the current security horn from behind the front bumper cover and installed it under the plastic cover covering the area between the radiator support bar and the grille, next to the existing steering wheel horn.. I used a 14 gauge jumper wire to connect the horns and made sure they were properly grounded.. I also had purchased a pair of Honda sport horns that were offered by an online Honda dealer,, and mounted them together behind the front bumper cover using the factory bolt holes for one of the horns, and I mounted the second horn nearby- again using a jumper wire and making sure of good grounds. Both sets of horns have worked really well since I did this mod with no problems and no additional fuses, etc.. The difference in loudness in both sets of horns is substantial. PS I didn't take any pics of the installation and no further writeup other than what is written here.
