I am going to install a Stebel Nautilus horn real soon. Do I need another relay for it? I have the Helm Fit service manual. The wiring diagram shows there is a 20amp fuse in the horn wiring harness already. Admittedly the wire going to the horn appears pretty tiny, but then again it won't get used for more than 2 seconds at a time.
So... can I just wire it in, or do I really need to put a new relay in the system?

Use the relay. Stock wiring isn't enough to push the current an air horn needs for full volume. That is more an issue than blowing fuses or burning wiring up.

In the past I have used air horns w/o relays and they "worked" just fine... this time around I did it the right way.

Why?

Because not boro rattle-trap.
