Request noise diagnosis from Fit experts
EDIT - updated with youtube video
Hi all,
Our family has a great little first gen fit that has had a noise over the last year or so that I am having trouble pinpointing. One mechanic has diagnosed sway bar links, but after taking a look myself under the car I can't replicate either the noise or see any play in the suspension. Only noises I did find were in the axle which did have a bit of side to side play but this was dismissed as 'normal'. It really does seem to come from a more central location and seems like it could be a mount or who knows. I am attaching a video in hopes one of the experts here can point me in the right direction.
Thanks all.

Good idea Mike, thanks!
Hard to make the end links make noise while underneath the car.. you don't have the weight of the car bouncing up and down.
I had a ram with bad sway bar bushing. No visible problems and no noise while under it. Made the same noise as in your video. To be clear, it was the bushings. Not end links.

First make sure there are no loose interior trim panels, shields and so on
Open the door, grab it and shake the car sideways by moving it up and down. Clunking noise indicate bad sway bar link.
Next check the struts/rear shocks mounts.(big gap , loose feel)
Next get car on the front stands and shake wheels to rule out drive shafts and spun front bearing issues.

I’m at a loss my 07 is having a similar sound mostly prevalent when going over bumps. I have replaced sway links, lower control arms, inner and outer tie rods, and strut assemblies. Still has noise but as far as I can tell not much play in the wheels or the typical CV axle click while turning.
