Day time running lights

2013 Sport
Just got it, so still discovering new things.
It's suppose to be able to turn off the day time running lights.
I have it on the off position, but the lights still on.
Am I missing something???
I didn't notice it before, but the "DRL" in the dash is on.
I did just change to LED bulbs.

DRL are off when turning on the car with the handbrake up. As soon as you lower the handbrake, DRL come on.

At least it is like that in Canada.

Can pull the fuse if you want. I did on my 2013 Sport. Those LEDs you put in probably do not have DRLs built into them so throwing the DRL light on the dash. I put in RoadManner LEDs and still had a DRL and a full bright headlight as well.

Anyone know of a led bulb that will not turn the DRL dash light on????

Pull the DRL fuse. My memory is fuzzy but I thought it was #15. Then no DRL light on dash.

I pulled my DRL fuse like a month after buying my Fit new in '09.

The DRL light's intended purpose is to tell you the high beam filament is burnt out - there's a problem with the DRLs. LEDs use something like 1/5 the current (amps) of what the halogen bulbs used, which is low enough to trigger the DRL warning.

You just need a slight conceptual shift. It's no longer a DRL warning light - it's an indicator light. Your DRLs are on, not your headlights.
