1998 Civic LX Wipers Don't Work
Hi ... can anyone tell me how to change the wipers motor on my car? At
least how to get to it and where it is, if telling me how to do it will be
too long. Any help is much appreciated, I couldn't go to work today because
it was raining.
Thanks

use rainx on your window until you get your wipers fixed.
The motor under the front of the windshield.
Seriously though if you had to stay home because of this and are not
resourceful enough to think of rain x or where a wiper motor might be then
you should probably bring your car to a shop that can fix it for you.
Otherwise I am guessing you are going to be out of work quite a bit longer.

If you've already proven to yourself that it's not caused by one of the
fuses (that's plural), or the switch, or the grounding wire, you should
probably go to Canadian Tire or Walmart and pick up a Chilton's or
Haynes manual, since nobody (around here) seems to say much about Civic
wiper motors failing.
You'll probably have to go to the dealer for the motor . . . why not ask
them to give you a print-out off their screen so you can see lots of
details. They probably have the Chilton's book too.
Google.ca might find you an article or two.

A few weeks ago I lost all my wipers washers, 2 fuses and
4 light bulbs due to to the wiring loom that connects the body to
the hatch. Almost all of the wires had lost their insulation,
so I had shorts all over. In the rain to boot. It was easy to diagnose,
I had a tail-light on when no lights should have been, I opened
the hatch, when it when past about my chest height, the light
winked off, lower the hatch, light comes on.
btw - it's an '88 HB, 217,000 kms., original wiper motor,
original most everything.
