Fit Sport: Do all of them come with a spare tire?

Hello FitFreaks, I'm hoping to get some help with clarifying an issue.

It has been my understanding from reading numerous reviews that the Fit Sport equipped with manual transmissions come with a spare tire, and the Fit Sport equipped with automatic transmissions come without a spare tire, and a tire repair kit instead.

I went to a Honda dealer yesterday to check out an automatic transmission equipped Fit Sport in person. I opened the hatch, looked under the mat, and lo and behold there was a spare tire there.

Does anybody here know for certain what's going with this situation?

Thank you in advance.

All Canadian Fit's with automatic transmissions do not come with a spare tire, they come with a tire repair kit instead.

All USDM models have a spare tire whether manual or auto transmissions.

I agree with that statement.

We def need a beginners forum. It will keep some of the repetitiveness down and offer a great resource for all of us to refer back to when in need.

...or we could just answer the question. There were several previews of the '09 Fit (found through Google) that stated that the '09 was going to market without a spare.

We need a damn winter tire, snow tire, studded tire, does the Fit work in snow, does the Fit work on ice sticky. Some one starts a new thread about winter and the Fit every few days.

The dealer told me that the Canadian AT Fits don't have a spare tire to meet the mpg rating needed for government rebates.

I bet that is correct. Also I have thought that the disc type (spokeless) aluminum rims on the Canadian LX model, that those would be a plus for MPG!

Very interesting to note that no spare = better mpg!

...which was precisely the cause of my confusion, thus my motive for asking said question. Thank you for pointing this out SportMTNavi.

Do the Canadian standards use 'inertia classes' as our own EPA does? For US ratings, it is helpful to drop into the next lighter class for mileage calculations and the dyno run.
Real world mileage is little effected by the dropping of a few pounds, but it is good for puffing the mileage numbers for EPA and advertising, and now for Kalifornia 'climate change' stickies.
