I know i read it somewhere on the forum, but can someone confirm that the brakes (specifically pad sizes) on the GE (2011) are the same as the GD (2007)?

Nope, according to the parts number Benardi Parts they do not match up thus being two different sizes. Here is a screen shot of all the brake's parts numbers; GE chassis on left, GD on right. On illustration line 9 you'll find the pad part numbers.
