Can't burn an MP3 CD that my '07 fit will play

Anyone have any tips?

I have a lot of nice shiny coasters here... but no joy ;-`

I've tried Nero and CD Burner XP. Lots of different settings. Memorex CDRs. Maxell CDRWs. Some sort of no-name CDR... etc.

I personally use Roxio Creator DE to make MP3 CDs.

Be sure when you are adding the albums/songs to the playlist that there isn't any different types of files aside from MP3 and WMA in the folder of music/complete list of tracks will not play.

CDRW may not work in CD players, but I don't know why Nero isn't working for you- it's worked for me. I even burned it as a data CD instead of a music CD so I could fit way more than 70 minutes worth of music on it.

Maybe making sure it's closed, rather than leaving it open (or whatever they call it, you don't want the setting that lets you add tracks later), may do it.

Is your ride Canadian Dx Lx or Sports.

Canadian DX LX Stock stereo 160 Watts cannot play MP3 coasters

Canadian Sports Stock stereo 200 Watts can play MP3 coasters

You need to use CDR not CDRW. Try iTunes as well.

Tell us what you error message you have.

I'm 99.9% sure you've got a DX or LX....I was really surprised that is was not mp3 compatible. Come on Honda, in 2007?

Good thing it has a aux input.

Hi all, and thanks for the replies!

1. I am not sure of the model, exactly -- I should try to figure that out. (We bought it used, no manuals.) It's pretty base -- power windows, but no power locks .. but has fog lights, go figure! It has the blue dot / blue back-lit display. I'm in Canada, and I think the car is native, but who could tell?

2. I've tried closing the CDs, and tried both data and music formats (though mostly, I am trying the data formats, since that's the point :-)).

I suspect it's just not supported (sigh, Honda, sigh!).

Cheers,
t

Hi Vince;

No air, no cruise.

Sorry -- there's no error message. It appears to be playing the disk -- but it only sees one track, no matter how I burn the CD, and it just plays that one track (but there's no sound produced) forever.

Does it play regular CDs? Maybe you're stuck with just an mp3 player then, which is not a bad thing. More tunes, less clutter.

Ok. You have the same error as me when I try to play mp3 cd's.

The OEM stereo you have cannot play mp3 files, confirmed.

Check the 8th digit in the win number:

For Canadian 07 models:
2 = DX
4 = LX
6 = Sports

Fog lights can be added on DX and LX as accessorie.
Switch for the fog light will be on the panel left of the steering wheel
Sports fog light switch is integrated with the light switch stick

10th digit 7 = 07 model 8 = 08 model

Dang, that's what I was afraid of! Thanks for confirming.

I'll get the 8-track player out of the shed I guess, and wire it up!
