I was planning on buying a middle of the road remote start system as well as some type of universal immobilizer bypass and then just having best buy install it, but after talking to bestbuy, they are now telling me for the 2011 fit, only a viper remote start can be installed. This CAN'T be right can it? From the research I've done, as long as I have a bypass, I should be able to install any $50 or $100 remote start unit. Someone please help! I could already start to use it in the mornings now here near DC.

There are a few different options available. XpressKit has a transponder override that is pretty universal. It will basically mirror your key so the car thinks the key is in the ignition so you can remote start it. There are others out there that will make you use your valet key as they can't copy the transponder.

 

I finally had mine installed today. It has been almost a year since I ordered it but after getting everything finally installed (I know, the alarm should have been first) last month, it was time. This is total overkill for me as my car is parked in a garage all day at work, and then in a garage when I get home. I guess having a best friend who owns his own shop has it perks.
