New 2012 Fit Owner! What are some of the top accessories for the fit?

Hi, super excited about my new ride 2012 Fit Sport, auto, no navigation. Only extra from the dealer was the window tint.

I'm thinking about getting a cargo tray. Any recommendations on which one? My dog will ride in the back, and I'm wondering if there is some sort of divider I can put back there to keep her safe and in the trunk area if I'm in an accident.

Any other good bang-for-the-buck accessories for the Fit? Performance stuff (cold air intake, k&n filters, etc) or interior/exterior accessories? I'd like to add some sort of red accent to the exterior and maybe interior, I think it would match the white/black really well.

OEM center armrest. Really wish it came standard with the car. I believe CollegeHillsHonda has a divider for the trunk for pets.

Agreed, I was surprised at the lack of armrest and storage. Collegehillshonda is a great site! Thanks.

I dig my Clazzio Seat Covers

Might not be the best idea if you have a dog constantly in the car, but Clazzio seat covers really enhance the interior of our Honda Fits. I added a picture below, and you can see more here.

You can buy them here for about $270. They have plenty of other colors to choose from, you could do black with red stitching.

This. I put it off for a long time due to its relatively high price, but now that I have it it was worth every penny. Maybe it's just me, but just having it there even when I'm not "using" it, the interior just feels more like a car should. I think it's also the only time my wife has been "happy" with how I spent money on the car.

Oh, and welcome!

I have several accessories on order for my new Fit too. (Same as yours, only in Vortex Blue.) I already installed the cargo cover, but with your dog that wouldn't work. I'm getting the Rear Bumper Applique, which you might want to also consider since your dog will be scrambling in and out back there.

A lot of people like getting LED drop in bulbs to replace the weak stock ones. I'm going to try that next. Also, there is some debate about the effectiveness of wheel locks, but mine came free so I'm happy to have them.

With regards to your dog!

I have two bulldogs that go everywhere with me. I put the rear seats down for them. They like to look out the window!

As for usefull accessories for them I installed the rear bumber aplique from Honda. You can install this yourself.

There is a cheaper, thicker version out there on ebay but it doesn't wrap down the rear bumber far enough to protect it from paw scatches. The OEM one is the best for dogs.

Aslo since my rear seats are down for them I put a double sized bed sheet (black) around and under the seats.

And on top of that I put a blanket

Another good Honda accessory is the door garnishes

I also replaced the original antenna with this shark Fin

Other mods I've done

JDM Rear Wiper mode (you can see the rear bumber apliqué)

My mods (sorry above are old pictures)

K&N OEM filter replacement
JDM Rear wiper mod
AC auto on defrost mode mod
Dome light (blue)
Cargo light (blue)
Cup holder light (blue) since your car is white, red bulbs would look awesome!
VG Shark Fin antenna (colour matched)
Door sill OEM garnish
OEM rubber mats
Rear OEM mud flaps
OEM cargo tray
Red H key fob
Red H steering wheel emblem
Red H front emblem
Red H back emblem
RS front emblem
RS back emblem
OEM bug defletor
Tire stem valve Red H caps
Red H oil cap
Upgraded the arm rest
Leather wrapped the parking brake handle
35% tints all around
Fog lights to Silverstar Ultra
Headlights to Silverstar Ultra
Front position lights to bright white LED (looks bluish) Yours would look good in red. Not exactly legal but who cares!

And my favourite is the

Electronic throttle controller w/ 91 octane gas and all tires to 35 PSI. (plus two from recommended 33 PSI). Way better MPG's

My good man you have litterally thousands of possibility available to you on this site. The "what did you do to the Fit today" thread was my inspiration. Have a good look around! Have fun!

Oh one more thing! the rear cargo tray / mat from Honda is supper soft for dogs...

Most are less than a few months old.

I second the Fiamm el grande horns and the oem center armrest console. The horns are well worth the effort of running a fused line from the battery (search here for a diy), and the center console does not provide much storage space, but is super comfortable to rest on while driving.
Congrats on your new ride!

I recently got a 2011 White Fit and I got to say... Armrest which is why I ordered one from College Hills early this week. I suggest it and as most people say it too!

I will post pics once I get it and DIY installed.
I do suggest tint as well. Mine came with tint but just saying... tint is a must on all cars (IMO). As for other things... I can think of ones I do plan to get is weather floormats (either OEM or WeatherTech). Light bulbs for cosmetic fun. Other then that... it really is up to you. I am diggin the Mugen pedals and other things from Mugen but that's also because I have a MT version.

Question

Notice you got a 2012.
I have a 2011 and was on the VG Shark Fin's website.
I only see they have it to 2009, however.
There is only one white through out the model years.

Did you go through them? What year did you put down and how was the paint matching?

VG Shark Fin Antenna

I put down 2009 as the year.

They are all the same size so year matters little.

What does matter is the colour code. Look up yours and match it in the drop down menu.

Mine is Crystal Black Pearl and it matched up perfectly. It was a quick install. I've had it for about 3 months now with zero complaints. The reception is excellent but I live in a city centre so no much experience out of town.

It did take a bit of time for delivery. But it was worth it.

I just did a bit of research for you.

For 2011 your colour code is: Taffeta White NH578 and they have it at the VG Shark Fin site. Post a pic when you are done!

I was curious so I looked this up on WIKI

Taffeta ( /ˈtæfɨtə/; archaically spelled taffety) is a crisp, smooth plain woven fabric made from silk or synthetic fibres. The word is Persian in origin, and means "twisted woven." It is considered to be a "high end" fabric.

Congrats!

If you're transporting a dog honestly the best thing you can do to keep the dog safe is crate it while it's in the car and tie down the crate with the cargo hooks.

Also, instead of the cargo tray ask for the cargo liner. It lines the backs of the seats in addition to just covering the cargo area that's there when the seats are up.

If you don't have a crate though look for 3rd party dividers. There are ones that should fit behind the seats and go from floor to ceiling.

Some other popular things are door sill protectors. I got mine of ebay for $35, I like them a lot more than the ones Honda offers:
