This morning, the emissions light on my 2007 FIt went on and the D (drive) indicator also started blinking. After (foolishly) driving about 30 miles, the car has started to chug and now seems to be losing power. Unfortunately, I'm in NJ and in the aftermath of the storm, I'm having problems finding a mechanic who is open today. I'm now also 30 miles from home and afraid to drive the car. Any idea what this might be and if there's anything I might try to fix it myself? Could bad gas or a dirty air filter cause this?

Just to update, was able to get the car to a dealer near home and it was a 3rd gear pressure switch. Total cost for replacing switch plus transmission fluid change (car has 63k miles so guess I was due) was $350.
