I'm not sure this should go to general talk to GD1 specific forum, but here it goes.

I'm a Fit / Jazz owner from Australia. Jazz GD3 2005 VTI with 7speed CVT. Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe America Fit are equipped with Auto transmission, so not sure if anyone can help out.

The price of CVT fluid in Australia is $90 for 4 quarts which is a lot! I saw on Amazon US selling CVT-1 fluid for only about $8 a quart. I only need 2 for my next service (have 1 remaining from the bottle of last service). My question is, do you think CVT-1 in US and CVT-F in Australia are the same?

So not know but I would say the shipping would be quite high for a couple of quarts.

 

Thanks for your response. I've check and shipping is quite affordable too. 4 quarts would cost me a total of about $50-55 as oppose to over $90 for 4L here in Oz. And every service I only need 3 quarts.

Don't know why but I really like the idea of quart bottles.

 

Where in Australia are you located?

I have two friends that frequently ship a container to Australia. I just arranged for a motorhome windshield to go to Seattle to be put in container one headed for Brisbane. I thinking that a 12 or 24 qt. case of oil could go very cheaply if it was put in one of their containers. I just picked up a transmission and final drive for another one of them in Sydney. He said that it eventually is going to Australia. That could be months from now. He is flying in to Texas on Wednesday and will not return for 5 or 6 months. I do not know all of the details on what port they land those containers.

It is just a thought.

 

Thanks N9cv, it is a very good thought. If I know those people personally I would do that. However it gets a bit complicated doing things with people you don't know, especially containers have to go through custom clearance and all that. I don't mind paying extras for amazon to deliver to front door, still cheaper than buying in Australia.

It just irks me when things get marked up to ridiculous levels. A reasonable mark up is OK. Everyone needs to make a profit to stay in business.
